  One of two Git utilities specializing in integrating changes from one branch to another is Rebase. Git merge is the other change integration utility. Merge is often a record of forwarding changing transition. Alternatively, rebase has strong functionality for rewriting history.

  
  

  Rebasing is the mechanism by which a series of commits are transferred or merged to a new base commit. In the context of a function branching workflow, rebasing is most beneficial and easily visualized.
